Looking After Your Everyday Vitality
Practical guidance
Small Habits, Meaningful Benefits
Everyday choices, drawn from NHS and British Heart Foundation guidance, that support your heart, circulation and overall wellbeing.

Walking & movement breaks
The NHS recommends at least 150 minutes of moderate activity a week. Brisk walking counts, and short bouts add up.
Strength & mobility
Aim for strength activities on at least two days a week — gardening, carrying shopping and chair exercises all count.
Staying hydrated
The NHS suggests around 6–8 cups or glasses of fluid a day. Water, lower-fat milk, tea and coffee all count.
A balanced diet
Follow the Eatwell Guide: at least five portions of fruit and veg daily, wholegrains, fish and no more than 6g of salt.
Sufficient sleep
Most adults need around 7–9 hours a night. A regular routine and less late caffeine can help.
Managing everyday stress
Time outdoors, staying connected with people and simple breathing exercises can all support wellbeing.
Less time sitting
Break up long periods of sitting — stand during adverts, take calls on your feet, or walk around regularly.
Nitric oxide's natural role
Your blood vessels naturally make nitric oxide, which helps them relax. Activity and vegetable-rich diets relate to vessel health.

The science, simply
What Is Nitric Oxide — and Why Does It Matter?
Nitric oxide is a small signalling molecule that your body makes naturally. In your blood vessels, it's produced by the endothelium — the thin lining of the arteries — and tells the surrounding muscle to relax, allowing the vessel to widen. It's one of the ways your body adjusts blood flow to meet everyday needs, such as when you're walking or climbing stairs.
Your body makes nitric oxide in two main ways: from the amino acid L-arginine, and from nitrate found in foods such as leafy greens and beetroot. Regular physical activity is associated with healthy blood vessel function, while smoking, high blood pressure and inactivity are associated with poorer vessel health.
Well established
Nitric oxide plays a key role in normal blood vessel function. Lifestyle habits are closely linked to cardiovascular health.
Less certain
Whether supplements meaningfully benefit most healthy people. Research is mixed, and not everyone needs to "boost" nitric oxide.

An informed choice
Curious About Circulation Supplements?
Healthy habits are the foundation of cardiovascular wellbeing. Some people also explore supplements marketed to support nitric oxide production. CircO2 is one such product. Here's what to consider before deciding whether it belongs in your routine.
What CircO2 is
A dietary supplement sold by Advanced Bionutritionals and marketed to support the body's nitric oxide production. It is not a medicine.
Ingredients
We recommend checking the current ingredient label on the manufacturer's website before buying, as formulations can change. Products in this category commonly use beetroot-derived nitrates.
The manufacturer's stated benefits
The manufacturer says it is intended to support circulation, energy and cardiovascular function. These are the company's claims, not established clinical facts.
Limitations of the evidence
Research on nitrate and nitric oxide supplements is mixed and varies between people. We're not aware of independent clinical trials of this specific product.
Interactions and precautions: speak to your GP or pharmacist before trying any nitric oxide supplement — particularly if you take medicines for blood pressure, heart conditions or erectile dysfunction, use nitrates for angina, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have kidney problems or another medical condition. Never replace prescribed treatment with a supplement.
